Carl H. Cade, age 70, peacefully traveled on to our Lord and savior on September 14 at his home. Carl was born November 2, 1953, in Conroe Texas to Grady Cade Sr. and Ani Lourie Cade.
Carl was proceeded in death by grandparents Carl and Etta Hildebrandt, parents Grady Sr. and Ani Lourie Cade, parent in-laws Truett and Ester Schultz, brother Grady Cade Jr. and sister in-laws Judy Schultz and Melody Aldridge.
Carl is survived by wife Maureen Cade, daughter Chanee, son Joshua and wife Cassandra, grandchildren Abrahm, Hannah, Luke and honorary grandson William Downs. As well as brother David and wife Kim, brother Alfred and wife Kim, sister Cindy Tinkle, sister in-law Mary Cade, brother in-law Danny Schultz, brother in-law David Schultz and wife Lottie, sister in-law Kathy Hoskins, sister in-law Trudy Cryen and husband Kenny and many beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Carl grew up working on the family farm in Spring Texas where he would spend most of his free time hunting, fishing and camping on Spring Creek with his brothers, cousins and friends. As a young man he enjoyed showing hogs for the local FFA, braking horses, and rodeoing. A true jack of all trades, he had many professions through the years including working work over rigs, fabricator, carpenter, equipment operator and the list goes on. He also spent many years in management of fabrication shops, bolt manufacturing shops before finally settling down with the county until retirement.
In 1974 he married the love of his life Maureen Schultz in Spring Tx and together had two children, Joshua, and Chanee. Though always professing Spring Creek was his only home, he moved his family to Moss Hill in 1986 to provide a better life for them, still traveling up to 2 hours to and from work in Houston every day. Carls work ethic was untouched and was faithfully taught to his children and grandchildren. He also knew how to be lazy. If you ever didn’t know where he was, there was a very good chance you could find him in the middle of the woods taking a nap under a tree, contemplating the next breeding of his game chickens, or fishing with no bait because he “didn’t feel like cleaning fish”. A man of true honesty, no one ever had to guess where they stood with Carl. It might not have been what you wanted to hear, but it was what he had to say. Always having time to help folks, listening without judgment or condemnation to their problems, and providing sound advice when asked made him a father figure to many. As his grandchildren will say “you could get everything you needed from Paw Paw on his back porch”.
The community is invited to celebrate the life of Carl Henry Cade during the visitation, which will be held on September 19, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. His funeral service will follow beginning at 12:00 PM, followed by his burial at Moss Hill Cemetery in Moss Hill, Texas.
Honoring Carl as pallbearers are Joshua Cade, Tommy Aldridge, Abrahm Cade, Luke Cade, Grady Cade III, Alfred Cade, Jr., Carl W. Cade, and William Downs.
The impact he made in the lives of his family and friends will last for generations and his memory will live on through them. Carl would want everyone to know, he’s glad ya’ll got to see him and Merry Christmas.
In lieu of flowers, Carl's wishes were to plant an orchard for Maureen and the family would love to accept any type of fruit tree in his honor.
