It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daleton Linn Henry, who left this world on March 4, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 14, 1964, in Liberty, Texas, Daleton was a devoted son, father, and grandfather, a man with a heart of gold who touched the lives of all who knew him.
For many years, Daleton dedicated himself to serving as a cop for the Harris County Sheriff's Office. His passion for work led him to various dump truck companies, where he discovered a love that never wavered. He was not just a workaholic; he was a man who found joy and purpose in every endeavor he undertook. When not working tirelessly to provide for his family, Daleton found solace in the woods, hunting deer—a pastime that brought him peace amidst the challenges of life. Throughout the years, he enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at local honky-tonks, performing country songs that reflected his deep roots and his love for the music.
Daleton was much more than a career man; he was the cornerstone of his family. A loving and supportive father to sons Colby Henry and his wife Amanda, and Carson Henry, as well as daughters Heather Brown and her husband Johnathon, and Maegan Henry. His affection and pride for all his children were boundless, as he nurtured a home filled with love that made each of them feel cherished. Grandfather to Maysen Hayes, Paisley Hayes, Hunter Brown, Emmah Henry, Collins Henry, Corbin Brown, and one granddaughter on the way, he radiated joy in every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Family connections were paramount in Daleton’s life. His mother, Vivian Henry, along with brother Jason Henry and his wife Mary, sister Velma Kelly, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones, all held a special place in his heart. Daleton’s door was always open, extending warmth and welcome to anyone seeking solace or companionship. His home was a sanctuary where everyone felt the love he exuded, a love that provided comfort and support to friends and family alike.
Beyond his familial ties, Daleton enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—cooking heartfelt meals, particularly family favorites such as backstrap, and relishing in treasured family gatherings. You could often find him relaxing on his front porch, waving to neighbors and friends passing by, a gentle reminder of his approachable nature and warm spirit.
Daleton is preceded in death by his father, Walter Henry, and his wife Loraina Henry, who are surely welcoming him with open arms.
The legacy Daleton leaves behind is one of love, dedication, and compassion. He will be remembered not only for his hard work but, most importantly, for the profound love he shared with his family and friends. As they navigate a world without him, they do so with hearts full of cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Daleton’s remarkable life during the visitation at Batson Prairie Baptist Church in Batson, Texas, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on March 9, 2026. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Tolbert Hudspeth and Pastor Talon Weaver officiating, and he will be laid to rest in Guedry Cemetery at 4:00 PM the same day.
Honoring Daleton as pallbearers are Colby Henry, Carson Henry, Maysen Hayes, Jamie Hickman, Aaron Thomas, Rancen Kelley, Jude Hudspeth and Kevin Driskill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith and Family Funeral Services.
Though he may have departed this life, Daleton's spirit and the love he imparted will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
