Frank James Baucum,72, of Baytown, Texas, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 2, 2024, at the Veterans Medical Center. He was born on October 22,1951, in Liberty, Texas to the late Clinton Arnold Baucum and Viola Walters.
 
Frank led a fulfilling life as a dedicated truck driver for most of his career. However, beyond his professional endeavors, he was known for his warm and affectionate nature. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who cherished his family and children deeply. His love extended beyond his own kin; had a special place in his heart for everyone that crossed his path.
 
A man of many talents and interests, Frank found joy in the outdoors and always had a knack for bringing laughter to any gathering. Described as funny, affectionate, and the life of the party, he never missed an opportunity to crack a joke, even in his last moments.
 
In service to his country, Frank honorably served one tour in Vietnam from November 1969 to December 1970. For his dedication and bravery, he was awarded several prestigious medals including the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Auto Rifle Bar, and Rifle Bar.
 
Frank was preceded in death by his father Clinton Arnold Baucum and Mother Viola Baucum; brothers Roy Baucum and Cleburn Baucum; and sister Janell McCann. He is survived by his loving spouse Brenda Baucum; daughters Melissa Hickman (Raymond), Jamie Marcontell (Jason), Angie Baucum, Samantha Kramer; son Frank Bo Baucum (Jennifer); brother Vorice Baucum; sisters Violet Lawrence, Joyce Clark, Sharon Taylor; grandchildren Karah Hickman, Hayley Dempsey, Garrett Hickman, Colton LaFrance, Dalton LaFrance, Triston LaFrance, Derek Marcontell, Blaine Marcontell, Summer Baucum, Britten Baucum, Brooke Baucum, Jake James Baucum, McKenzie Redfearn, Trace Redfearn, and Kyson Redfearn; great grandchildren Creed Dempsey, Cullen Dempsey, Emory Hickman, Avery Hickman, Sage Hickman, Paige Hickman, Keanan Hickman, Heidi LaFrance, Hattie LaFrance, Reagin LaFrance, Addysin LaFrance, Taylynn LaFrance, Teagan LaFrance and Tatum LaFrance.
 
Serving the family as pallbearers are Garrett Hickman, Colton LaFrance, Dalton LaFrance, Triston LaFrance, Derek Marcontell, Blaine Marcontell, and Britten Baucum. Honorary pallbearers are Trace Redfearn, Kyson Redfearn and Jake James Baucum. 
 
A visitation will be held on May 9 at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Batson, Texas, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Liberty, Texas, officiated by Deacons Darren and Mittie Farley at 10:00 AM. 
 
Frank James Baucum's presence will be deeply missed but his legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
