George Allen Tulley, 80, passed away April 26, 2025 at HCA-Kingwood hospital. George was born November 7, 1944 in Sinton, Texas. He lived most of his childhood in Raywood, Texas, then moved for college and Air Force life, living in Denison, TX, Clovis, NM, Marquette, MI and Irving, TX, until returning to his East Texas roots in Daisetta, TX. He and Joyce Nichols were high school sweethearts at Hull-Daisetta High School and married on June 26, 1965.
George proudly served in the Air Force achieving a rank of Sergeant with an honorable discharge after serving overseas in Vietnam. After his military service he and Joyce welcomed to their family a son, Brian and a daughter, Stacey. He was a local insurance agent for over 40 years until retirement, as he said, ‘because of computers.’ He was an active participant in the churches he attended, serving in roles ranging from deacon to RA director and Sunday school teacher. He has currently been attending and serving at Dayton Christian Center (DCC) in Dayton, Texas.
Survivors include his son Brian (Deb) Tulley, of Calamus, IA and granddaughters Beth, Anne, and Sarah Tulley and grandson Josh Tulley of Daisetta, TX son of the late Stacey Tulley. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws (and spouses) Ellen (Wayne) Hooks, Janey (Bill) Fabriguze, and Donna (Kerry) Cain and numerous nieces, nephews and childhood friends. He was preceded in death by Joyce Marie (Nichols) Tulley, daughter Stacey Leigh Tulley and parents, Thomas Walter and Fern Marie (Thomas) Tulley. He was also preceded in death by his five siblings Maxine, Joan, Mattie, Jackie and Tommy and in-laws Vernon Harold and Audrey (Collins) Nichols.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on May 1, 2025 at North Main Baptist Church - Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be May 2nd at 10 am at North Main Baptist Church – Liberty, Texas. Interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, TX. Services are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services of Batson.
Memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior project, Relay for Life, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers that have worked with George over the years during his many health struggles. The staff at HCA-Kingwood and the support from the caregivers at Fairy’s Landing made his last few weeks as comfortable as possible.
