James Weldon "Jim" Caruthers

James Weldon 'Jim' Caruthers 84, of Saratoga, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Baptist Beaumont Hospital with his family by his side.

Jim was born September 10, 1933 in Batson, to Johnny Caruthers and Rita Richey. He had lived in Saratoga, since 1960 and was a retired Millwright with U.S. Steel. Jim was a Christian man and member of Calvary Tabernacle Ministries of Batson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Elma Jackson Caruthers, son, Joey Caruthers, and daughter, Lavonne Caruthers.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Caruthers and wife Flo of Votaw, niece and caretaker Ruby Caruthers of Saratoga. Brother, Willie Gene Caruthers of Batson, and sister, Thelma Reavis of Tulsa OK and other nieces and nephews and a host of loving and caring friends.

Grandchildren, Donna Whittington and husband Bobby of Votaw, and Amy Hughes and husband Scotty of Thicket, and eight great grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday October 7, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Tabernacle Ministries of Batson. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday October 6, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Calvary Tabernacle Ministries in Batson.
