James Lee Smith, Sr., a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, in Winnie, TX. He was born on November 19, 1947.

James was known for his very social and outgoing nature, a quality that endeared him to many throughout his life. He deeply loved his family and found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, James cherished hunting and fishing, and spent countless hours enjoying the beauty of nature.

He is survived by his son, James Lee Smith, Jr. and wife Vivian; his daughters, Laurie Ann Collida and her husband Charles, and Racheal Smith. James also leaves behind his brothers, Larry Smith, Mike Smith, and John Smith and his wife Kathy.

He will be dearly missed by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, John Lee Smith; his mother, Ruby Manuel Smith; his sons, James Edward Smith and James Robert Smith; his brother, Delbert Smith; and his grandsons, Dustin Kershaw and Desmond Moore.

Cremation is under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas.
