Jerry Ben Ellison Jr., a beloved father, devoted husband, cherished son, and friend to many, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence in Cleveland, Texas. Born on May 12, 1980, in Galveston, Texas, Jerry brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Throughout his life, Ben excelled as a project manager in the construction industry, a testament to his diligence and commitment to his work. However, it was not merely his professional achievements that defined him; rather, it was his warmhearted nature and loving spirit that will be remembered most fondly. Ben was a man who embodied kindness and generosity, treating every child he encountered as if they were his own. His playful, goofy personality endeared him to friends and family alike, and he dedicated himself to ensuring their happiness.
In the sanctity of his man cave, Ben created cherished memories with his children, often hosting mini concerts that became treasured family traditions. His love for music resonated through his interests, as he embraced playing the guitar and drums, dancing with abandon, and coaching various sports—his heart singing particularly for basketball, the sport he held dear. Alongside these passions, he found solace in the simplicity of fishing and relished the tastes of life, particularly enjoying his mother’s jalapeño poppers, an exquisite delight that punctuated his childhood.
Ben is lovingly remembered by his mother, Patricia Denise Allen, and her husband Jerry; his devoted wife, Nichole Ellison; and his beloved children, Austin Ellison, Jasmine Ellison, Kaitlyn Ellison, Jerry Ben Ellison III, and Kimber Ellison. His legacy extends to his granddaughter, Elizabeth Ellison, who will carry forth the spirit of her grandfather. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Luke Allen, and his wife Wendy; his grandfather, Clyde Ellison; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will all miss his compassionate presence tremendously. A host of friends and family, unified by their adoration for Ben, will continue to honor his memory in their own lives.
Ben is preceded in death by his father Jerry Ben Ellison; grandparents, Bobbie Collins, Betty Patterson, Victor Smith, and Ed Reiss.
Despite the profound sorrow of his passing, we find comfort in remembering that Ben’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, and through the laughter echoing from the memories he made.
