Merrie Christie Blalock

Merrie Christie Cervantes Blalock “Christie”, 66, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. 

There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 4:00pm until funeral services at 6:00pm, conducted by Rev. Tony Hand. There will also be funeral services at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, TX on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 with a visitation from 12:00 noon until funeral services at 2:00pm. 

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis Blalock; one daughter, Krystle Blalock; one son, Joseph Blalock; her father, Antonio Cervantes of Shreveport, LA; her sister, Judy Scritchfield and husband David of Port Neches, TX; two brothers: Tony Cervantes and wife Diane of Silsbee, TX; Paul Cervantes and wife Sherri of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren: Mac Baldwin, Clara Baldwin, Jude Baldwin, and Josie Blalock. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Stanley; step-father, Stan Stanley; nephew Tim Cervantes; mother-in-law Freda Blalock; and father-in-law Dale Blalock. 

She enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, shopping, going to the beach with the girls, casino time, but mostly spending time with her grandkids. To celebrate her bright and vibrant life, the family asks for guests to wear pink for her memorial.
