Myrah Dawn Fowler

Myrah Dawn Fowler passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas. She was born on May 10, 1945, in Liberty, Texas, to the late Margie Fry O’Neill and Ruline O’Neill.

Myrah graduated from Hardin High School in 1963 and was married to the love of her life, Waymon Lee Fowler, for 60 years. She spent most of her life in Moss Hill, Texas, and in recent years resided in Madisonville following Waymon’s passing, so she could be closer to her sister, Sheila.

Myrah had a deep love for the outdoors and served as a secretary for the Arizona Creek Hunting Club for many years. She and Waymon treasured countless days at the hunting lease, enjoying nature and the fellowship of their many friends. She also loved fishing alongside Waymon – though she always had to be careful, as she could not swim. In their younger years, Myrah and Waymon shared a passion for racing cars, creating many cherished memories together.

Although Myrah and Waymon did not have children of their own, they were devoted and loving aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews. They were also blessed with a cherished “adopted” family. They lovingly considered Donnie Urquidez their son, his wife Melody, their daughter-in-law, and their daughters, Myrah and Callie Urquidez, their granddaughters.

Myrah will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Waymon Fowler.

She is survived by her brother R.C. O’Neill and wife Janice of Pearland, Texas; sister Sheila Nolen and husband Kenneth of Madisonville, Texas; brother Dale O’Neill of Hardin, Texas; and brother Myron O’Neill and wife Lisa of Crosby, Texas. She is also survived by her adopted family: Donnie Urquidez and wife Melody of Baytown, Texas, and their daughters Myrah Urquidez of Austin, Texas, and Callie Urquidez of Baytown, Texas. Additionally, she is survived by her longtime friend James Bracewell, whom she and Waymon considered a brother, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews Brian Nolen and Aaron Dozier; great-nephews Trevor Nolen, Ty Nolen, and Morgan Dozier; and her beloved “son” Donnie Urquidez.

A visitation for Myrah Dawn Fowler will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Moss Hill Cemetery at 2:30 pm with Pastor Aaron Leger officiating.
