Stephen Karl Hatcher

Stephen Karl Hatcher, of Daisetta, TX, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Hatcher was 67. Karl was born in Liberty, Texas on June 22, 1953. He grew up in Daisetta, Texas.
He joined the military where he became a cook as well as a medic. When he arrived back home Karl became a well-known self-employed rig welder in this area. There are many stories told by several people that Karl was one of the best welders around, and refused to get dirty while doing it!
In his prime, he had several hobbies he enjoyed. He loved saltwater fishing all day in his boat, and scuba diving. When he wasn't on the water he was most likely in the woods riding four-wheelers with Jake and Brandon, but one thing is for certain, he always had a cold one. He also enjoyed loading up with his wife, Becky, and numerous friends on their motorcycles and ride out to the hill country. All of his crazy and wild stories can't be told but his famous quote was "Poor Dumb Ignorant" when describing anything he had done. In his older years, he became quite a "homebody". You would find him in his old recliner watching cooking shows then later in the kitchen cooking what Karl just learned.
Karl was loved and respected by so many in his community. He was the type of man that would genuinely take the shirt off his back if you needed it. He would most likely jokingly give you a hard time all while telling you "Poor Dumb Ignorant", but he would still help you no matter what. Karl Steven Hatcher will truly be missed by so many.
