A Life Remembered

Obituary

Tanda Smith, a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, in Kingwood, Texas. She was born on October 20, 1958, in Albion, Michigan.

Tanda lived a life rooted in faith, love, and compassion. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, whether she was playing computer games or listening to her favorite gospel music. She had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling, always looking forward to discovering new places and making lasting memories. Tanda also had a tender heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Whiskers, and her husband's faithful dog, Stella.

More than anything, Tanda treasured the people she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 39 years, Odice Smith; her loving parents, Lawrence Trine, Jr. and Judith Keith Trine; and her children, Sammi Marsh, Mark Marsh III, Tommi Tate, Heaven Pann and husband Josh, Tavasha Arkabauer, Kristen Whitford, Patience Beitz and husband Jason, Hannah Wright, Jazimen Trine, Mandi Smith, Bishop Smith, Casey Trine, and Charlie Smith.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Lawrence Trine III and wife Michelle; her sisters, Tina Raab and husband Rudy, Melissa Anderson and husband Scott, Cris Trine and partner Bill, and Dena Monarch and husband Eric. Tanda's legacy will continue through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many treasured friends whose lives she touched with her love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence Keith; her grandmothers, Crystal Trine and Opal Ferman; her uncle, Lynn Keith; her nephew, Mitchell Dean Endicott; her mother-in-law, Mary Smith; and her beloved granddaughter, Leslie Arkabauer.
