W. Lee Williams

W. Lee Williams, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this life on January 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on June 15, 1934, in Borger, Texas, Lee enjoyed a fulfilling life as a dedicated engineer, retiring after 43 years from Dresser Magcobar. His career was marked by hard work, excellence, and a deep sense of purpose, traits that defined his character throughout his life.

Lee was not just a man of profession but a warm-hearted individual who nurtured powerful connections with those around him. He was an avid Texas A&M fan and took immense pride in his family. As a devoted father to his daughters, Lynn Bronstad and her husband Larry, and Dana Murphy and Prichard Ortiz, Lee always embodied what it meant to be a loving dad, showering his girls with affection, guidance, and support. Known fondly as "Pops" to his grandchildren, he thrived in the role of grandfather, filling their lives with joy and wisdom.

His love for family was evident in his passion for cooking, particularly the memorable meals he prepared during family gatherings. Cooking outdoors brought him joy, especially when shared with loved ones. Lee relished the great outdoors, where he spent many happy hours fishing and hunting. Joining him on these adventures were his lifelong friend Ken and his boys, Kevin and Kelly Byram. Together, they forged bonds and created an unforgettable tapestry of memories over the course of more than fifty years.

An accomplished athlete in his youth, Lee showcased his talent in football, basketball, and track at Sour Lake High School, from which he graduated. These experiences laid the foundation for his resilient spirit and commitment to teamwork, qualities he carried into all areas of his life.

Lee is survived by his beloved daughters, Lynn and Dana; his sister, Beverly Radley; his grandchildren Cathy Burnett (Jason), Cody Murphy, Josh Bronstad (Jenn), and Shaun Murphy (Allison); and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Burnett, Grant Burnett, Vivienne Murphy, George Murphy, and Jack Murphy. His deep love for his family ensured that his legacy lives on through them, surrounded by dear extended family and friends.

Honoring Lee as pallbearers are Glenn Burdine, Cody Murphy, Josh Bronstad, Shaun Murphy, Kevin Byram and Kelly Byram.

He will always be remembered for the warmth he brought to every gathering, the laughter he shared in stories, and the unconditional love he offered. Lee Williams may have left this world, but the imprint of his spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He is reunited now with his beloved wife, Ruth Theriot Williams, and his siblings, David Ray Williams, Mical Williams, and Billie Talmadge, as well as his cherished parents, Belah Clark Williams and Gladys Mae Abbott Williams. May his soul rest in peace, embraced by love and cherished forever.
