William Lloyd Kelley, Jr., born on December 26, 1936, in Livingston, Texas, left this world on May 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love for his family and, vibrant memories of his adventures, and a spirit that will remain deeply embedded in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
William's career journey began in various machine repair shops in the surrounding areas, showcasing his dedication to his craft. He later took a monumental step and opened his own machine repair company, Kelley Interprises, where he shared his skills and knowledge with others, embodying the essence of hard work that defined his character.
From a young age, William loved the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, passionate about bass fishing, and found immense joy in deer hunting. Those who knew him will fondly recall his thrilling escapades on his beloved Harley Davidson, riding through the hill country alongside his sons, Craig, and Trey. Together, they reveled in the beauty of nature, creating cherished memories while basking in the serenity that the great outdoors provided.
Family was important to William, he didn’t show it, but his commitment to family and friends created unbreakable bonds. If he liked you he would go to great links for you. That’s just who he was.
He is survived by his son, Craig Kelley of Kingwood, Texas; his brother, Jimmy Lynn Kelley of Sour Lake, Texas; and his beloved grandchildren: Sydney Kelley, Katie Kelley, Trey Michael Kelley, and Breanna Kelley. Expressing the joy he brought to their lives, his great-grandchildren—Beauden Kelley, Brecklynn Kelley, Bentley Kelley, Graham Nash, Cooper Dean, and Walker Kelle—will carry forward his legacy and the mother to his children, Berniece Kelley Ischy of Kingwood, Texas.
William proudly served in the Army, which was a defining chapter of his life, further testament to his strength and commitment. He is preceded in death by his father, William Lloyd Kelley, Sr.; mother, Ethyl Doris Bridges; brothers, Robert Earl Kelley, and James Erwin Kelley. In a gentle reminder of the bonds that transcend time, his son Trey Kelley who survived him prior to his death recently joined him in heaven on August 24, 2024.
As we gather to honor the life of William Lloyd Kelley, Jr., we invite family and friends to join us for a Memorial Service on September 21, 2024, at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas, at 10:00 AM. We will celebrate a life lived fully, filled with laughter, hard work, and unconditional love—a narrative told in cherished stories and enduring legacies.
William Lloyd Kelley, Jr., may you rest in peace, knowing your love has sown seeds in the hearts of your family that will flourish for generations to come. Your spirit will continue to ride alongside us in the gentle breezes of the hill country, forever missed, always cherished.
